Morning sickness symptoms effect more than half of all women at some point during their pregnancy.

Making eating uncomfortable, morning sickness affects everyday activities making them hard to cope with. Regardless of the fact that most symptoms are fairly typical, this condition will affect all women differently. Here are some of the most common symptoms and options for dealing with them.

You may notice your sense of smell has intensified if you are experiencing morning sickness. This can be problematic in some ways, as you have much less tolerance than usual for any odors that are unpleasant. Whereas before, you may have made a face if the garbage hadn't been taken out, now you may actually throw up from the smell. The main remedy for this is simply to avoid odors that bother you as much as possible. Candles and essential oil therapy can help sometimes. Peppermint is a proven method for treating or at least alleviating some of the symptoms of morning sickness and it's helpful to your digestive tract and stomach and often as a scent in your home or office.

On top of the nausea, some women will experience muscle cramps including their back. Talk to your doctor if these become severe and they can discuss with you possible pain relievers you can take during your pregnancy.

When you first get up in the morning or after eating, be cautious and make sure not to make sudden moves. Going for walks or other light exercise, even though you may not have much energy, can also be helpful. This is a good tip since complete inactivity is not food for your body and can actually make your symptoms worse. We all agree that morning sickness can be made more difficult by cramps, rest is always the best option.

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of morning sickness. Many women who escape other symptoms will have this one. You only have one remedy for this one and that's alot of rest. If your other morning sickness symptoms are keeping you up at night try getting several power naps in throughout the majority of the day. Don't let your muscles get stiff though, maintain a healthy balance of life and activity such as short walks. All of the chemical changes caused by pregnancy take their toll on your body, so for the most part all you can do is take it easy and let nature run its course. On top of general fatigue, simply feeling tired is normal.

The day that you no longer experience morning sickness is a day all pregnant women look forward to. The good thing is it doesn't last long, but that knowledge doesn't help much while you are suffering. Your doctor should be contacted for severe symptoms, but many can be treated with home remedies.
